1. When will I know which PetSite name I received?
When you sign up and pay online, straight away we email you confirmation of your PetSite name, your user name and password and at the same time, your Petsite goes live on the web. You can then immediately start uploading content to your site for all to see.

2. Can I change the period I originally signed up for?
Yes, you can select and pay for different periods any time you wish. Just login to your control panel and renew, extend and pay your subscription for whatever period suits you best. And remember, the longer the subscription you choose, the cheaper it is which means savings for you.

3. Can I save my site to CD?
Yes. We can store your complete PetSite on CD. This includes all your photos, entries, your pets blog and more. Some functionality will be lost. Just contact us to arrange.

4. Why am I still seeing an old photo after uploading a new one?
If you are seeing an old photo in the thumbnail image of your control panel entry after uploading a new photo, that is a cache issue. Cache is your web browser’s memory, it is still remembering your old photo even though you uploaded a new photo.

First, after uploading the new photo, go to your actual website and view the page with the new photo. It should appear when you view the page, you may have to hit your refresh button once or twice for your browser to load the new image. If the new image appears, your upload was successful.

The old thumbnail image in your control panel will update once your browser’s cache has been deleted and browser restarted. It will eventually update, but if you want to reset the cache manually, you can follow these instructions for Internet Explorer:

1. Go to your ‘TOOLS’ menu at the top.
2. Select ‘INTERNET OPTIONS’ at the bottom.
3. Click the ‘DELETE FILES’ button and the ‘OK’ button on the warning.
4. Click the ‘OK’ button at the bottom of the window to apply and close.
5. Restart your browser and log back in to your control panel.

5. When will my website expire?
You can check your expiry date at any time on your ‘Home Administration' page when you login to your control panel.

6. Why won’t my image upload?
Images for upload must be in jpg or .jpeg format. You must use software to save images to these formats and not just edit the extension.

Optimized images should also be 72dpi, higher resolutions are only for printing, not for web use. Computer monitors only show 72dpi. The physical dimensions should also be no higher or wider than 375 pixels. That is the max size displayed on your petsite.

If your image has been optimised and resized yet still won't upload, the file may be corrupt.

7. How do I pay for my petsite?
You need to pay by credit card online. We accept MasterCard and Visa.

8. I picked the colours I want but they didn't change on my site?
You need to remember to click the "Save Settings" button after you select your colours. If you don't, the old colours will continue to appear.

9. What are the 'featured' and 'main' boxes for in the Manage images area?
You use these to display your photos in certain areas of your site. If you tick the 'featured' box beside a photo, it will appear on your Home page as a thumbnail. Only 4 photos can appear as thumbnails on your Home page - even if you tick more than 4 boxes, only 4 will appear.

If you tick the 'main' box beside a photo, it will appear as the large image on your Home page. Only one image will appear even if you tick more than one 'main' box. You can keep changing the look of your site by changing which boxes are ticked.

10. I've uploaded photos but they're in the wrong category?
That's because you forgot to select the correct category they belong to from the drop down box under the 'Caption' field below the image you picked. Make sure before you click the 'Add images' button to upload your photos, you have selected the correct category from the drop down menu under each photo.

11. I set up a category but it doesn't appear in the menu on my Home page?
A category will only appear in the menu if it contains a photo or photos. You need to add photos to the category and then it will appear. Adding a photo when you first set up the category (on the 'Manage categories' page) will not make it appear in the menu - you need to add photos to the category from the 'Add images' part of your Control Panel. Don't forget to select the category for the photo from the drop down box under the photo before you upload them.

12. The date of my blogs are not appearing correctly.
You need to enter the date exactly as indicated in that part of your control panel. Put the date in as DD/MM/YYYY with the forward slashes eg. 15/05/2007

13. Why does a category I deleted still appear in my PetSite?
In order to delete a category you have set up, you must delete all images listed under that category first. The category will not delete otherwise. Go into 'Manage images' and delete all the photos you have uploaded for the category you want to delete. Then go into 'Manage categories' and delete the category.

14. Why is my large home page photo not filling the frame area?
The main photo frame or large photo on your home page is set at a size of 200 pixels wide and 300 pixels high. If you select a photo for this frame that is smaller than this size, it will appear smaller in the frame. If you select a larger photo than this size, it will be automatically adjusted to best fit the frame. On larger photos, this might mean some part of the photo is cut out of what you see during the resizing process. The resizing process does not effect your original image file.

15. When adding images, does the image and thumbnail need to be the same?
No - you can select different photos for the main image and for the thumbnail. The thumbnail will appear as the smaller image in your category and when clicked on to enlarge, the main image you uploaded with the thumbnail image will be displayed. If you upload all different thumbnails to the main images, you can display a total of 60 different photos on your PetSite.
