Cane toad poisoning | [5-Dec-2007] |
| I had a close call the other day. Stupid me decided to get hold of a cane toad. Well, was that a dumb thing to do or what. When I had it in my mouth, it squirted this cane toad juice down my throat which nearly choked me. But that was not the end of it. After about a minute or two I started to have halucinations and couldn't even stand up. Then I started to shake and I was struggling to breath and I thought it was the end for me. I was seriously sick. My mum found me which was lucky for me. She forced a couple of litres of water into me and after a few minutes, I chucked up the water with the toad juice. Mate - was I lucky. I'm sure I would have died if it wasn't for being forced to drink tons of water which made me throw up. Anyway, it took another couple of hours for me to start feeling ok again. So - my advice to everyone is stay away from cane toads. And NEVER put one in or near your mouth. Or you'll end dead or seriously ill like I did. And they say frogs legs taste good. Well rest assured I wont be trying those either. | |
A bit about my mates. | [28-Nov-2007] |
No doubt about it - Ozzie Magozzie is my best mate. He's a great big doberman pincer who I've grown up with ever since we were about 6 weeks old. You would't believe it now but we started out the same size. It's just that Ozzie kept getting bigger until he's now about ten times my size. Ozzie weighs 40 kilos and I only weigh 8. I'm just as tough as Ozzie though. Maybe can't run as fast but that's about all. Nothing I won't do that Ozzie does. It's good to have him around although he drives me crazy sometimes. Every time he wants to do something or go somewhere, he makes me go too. He just about won't go anywhere without me. Talk about never getting any piece and quiet. Still, most times I'm glad he's about - particularly when I need some back up if I'm getting a hard time from someone. Make a good team we do. The Microscopic Mouse has become my friend as well. I started out trying to catch and kill him but it's turned out we kinda just got to know each other and he's sort of become a mate. He's a tiny mouse that's about 2 inches long so that's why he's called Microscopic - you can hardly see him. He lives at my place in the garden. I still chase after him but it's a bit of a game now. Kinda like playing hide and seek. Peanut and Crusty are my cat mates but I haven't seen them for a while. I grew up with them on the farm and when we moved, they stayed behind to look after things. When Peanut had her kittens, I was the one driven mad all the time looking after them. You will see what I mean when you read my story about the night of the Barbaganoushes. My other good mates are Jack & Honey, Cashew, Chestyboy and The Sootman (a cllo black cat). And of course I have lots of my favourite human friends. Of course, my folks are my best friends as well. Ther'e really cool and let me do about anything I want. Sometimes I get hammered by them when I step out of line. Still, I can't complain. I get to go most places with them, in the convertible or the boat or even sometimes in the helicopter. Life's pretty good. | |
My first Blog | [27-Nov-2007] |
| Now since I was born, lots of people have said to me that I'm really an Ewok - or related to the Ewoks just like out of Star Wars. Well, maybe I am. I sure do look like an Ewok. Mind you, I don't live in a forest and I do have difficulty walking around on only two legs. But I could easily be one for sure. Having said that, I'd rather be compared to a person because as far as I am concerned, I'm much more comfortable in the company of people than other animals. I do have some really good animal mates which you will see when you look through my photo album but I feel I'm more like my folks than anything else. I must say though, the folks have trouble sometimes treating me like a person. I think they still think I'm more like Ozzie Magozzie than them but really, it's not the case. Maybe I'm a human in Ewok clothing? Who knows. And I can absolutely tell you I hate animal food and would much rather eat a good pizza, a nice pasta with sauce, a salad or some friut or nuts. That doesn't sound like an animal now, does it. | |
